"I believe that you and your miraculous body already contain everything you need
to unlock the life that feels exactly right for you. "
Elizabeth W.D. CollgrayHello! My name is Elizabeth W.D. Collgray. (My maiden name is Woods-Darby and I still work as an artist under this name.)
I am a poet and artist, a mother and a certified somatic practitioner through the The Evolutionary Power Institute based in Boulder, Colorado. A little about me: I am the youngest child in a counter culture family of artists, born on a wild farmstead on the western slope of Colorado on unceded Ute Territory. I grew up barefoot chasing after my first best friends, which happened to be a heard of baby goats. At a very young age, I became fascinated by our interior worlds and how much they effect our external lives. I first saw this in my family and then through the creation of art, which I then pursued relentlessly. After High School I saved all the money I'd made working as a goat midwife and moved to New York City after being accepted into an Acting Conservatory at The Barrow Group Theater Company & School there. Throughout my work as an artist and now as a somatic practitioner, seeking and illuminating that internal life has always been the vital through-lines in my life's work. In 2018 I was introduced to Dr. Julie Colwell and her work with the Evolutionary Power Institute in Boulder. I attended many of her trainings (one with my 6 week old son in 2020) and my now husband, and graduated from her in-depth practitioner training in 2022. I deeply believe in the tools underpinning this work. As we learn more about trauma informed support, the body comes more and more into focus as not just something to work around, but as the place to begin and the place to come home to. In all of the inner work I've explored, and there's been lots, I have never found such deep connection in the understanding of myself or in my real understanding of others. I have felt held in the raw hands of deep connection while also anchoring myself into my own sovereignty and ability to face into the realities and bigness of my life. It brings me big, delicious joy to be able to share this work and these tools with my clients. I live in Denver with my husband and son and our rescue pup. |
